Single Origin Olive Oil from Plomari, Lesvos
Kolovi is a low-yield variety that gives its best character only in the soil around Plomari, Lesvos, so that is the only place we grow it. One island, one area, one variety: 100% Kolovi, single varietal and never blended with other varieties or regions. Every tin holds Kolovi and nothing else.
Hand-Picked and Pressed the Same Day
Harvested by hand in the November window and taken straight to the mill, so the olives are pressed the same day they are picked. Cold extracted below 27°C (80°F) with slow kneading and natural centrifugation. Nothing is rushed and nothing is heated. That is how the oil keeps its delicate fragrance.
Low Acidity, Tested in the Lab
0.29–0.35% free acidity across our published batches, well under the 0.8% maximum for extra virgin olive oil. 512 mg/kg polyphenols in our lab analyses, tested by Chemical Laboratories of Athens. K-values are recorded on every batch and each harvest gets a full laboratory analysis, published against its LOT number so you can read our lab analyses before you buy.
Light-Proof Olive Oil Tin in 1 L, 3 L and 5 L
Rested in nitrogen-filled steel tanks, then filled into a light-proof olive oil tin with a non-refillable pourer and shipped in a protective carton, so the oil arrives as it left the mill. Choose the 1 L tin (33.8 fl oz) for the table, or the 3 L (101 fl oz) and 5 L (169 fl oz) tins if you cook with olive oil every day.
What is single origin olive oil?
Single origin olive oil comes from one defined place instead of a blend of oils from different regions or countries. Memilon Lesvos is narrower still: the olives grow only around Plomari on Lesvos, they are 100% Kolovi, and the oil is never blended with other varieties or regions. The tin names Lesvos and 100% Kolovi.
How do I know if my olive oil is single origin?
Look for one named place on the label, ideally one named variety, and a way to trace the batch. Memilon Lesvos names Lesvos and 100% Kolovi on the tin. Each tin also carries a LOT number and a QR code on the side panel that trace back to the harvest date and the full lab report of that batch.
Can I check the lab results for my tin?
Yes. Every tin carries a LOT number that traces back to its harvest date and its full lab report. Enter your LOT number here to see the acidity, polyphenols and K-values of the batch in your tin once it arrives; before you buy, you can read our published lab analyses. Our published Lesvos analyses include reports from Chemical Laboratories of Athens. Batch values can differ slightly from harvest to harvest.
